Welcome to the website of the Medical Physics Laboratory (MPL) Scope and main ActivitiesMPL’s main purpose is to offer/provide: - Basic training to Medical School and Dental School students, to Medical doctor and technician trainees
- Postgraduate training Medical Doctors and Physicists towards either research or professional services in the field of Medical Physics
Basic and clinical research in Radiodiagnostic and Radiotherapeutic application of Medical Physics - Medical Physics services to all levels of medical care as well as to the society. The above are being accomplished in cooperation with Radiology, Radiotherapy, Cardiology, Nuclear Medicine and Biomedical Engineering departments in order to ensure excellent patient services using advanced modern diagnostic and therapeutic systems and methods. The MPL also offers dosimetric services
- Social services in the manner that this arises from the social responsibility of the scientists serving in the MPL.
The Medical Physics Laboratory in particular is practicing and offering services at the public and private sector in the fields of: - Medical Imaging
- Radiotherapy
- Nuclear medicine
- Radiation Protection
- Ionizing and Non-Ionizing radiation
- Telemedicine since 1989
- Bone metabolism (osteoporosis)
- Computer applications in medicine
- Consultancy services in X-ray, Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Therapy departments
